Do you have a desire to do more than just travel? Do you want to see the world and make a difference at the same time? We are now looking for short/medium-term volunteers (1 to 6 months) to help set up our new Vocational Training Center. In a course of 12 months we train, teach, prepare and empower the students so that they can first find and keep a job in the hospitality industry. The first 30 girls (18 – 22 yrs) will be welcomed in late June 2015, the first class will start in July. The VTC is a boarding school, the students sleep/live on the campus. In order to give to our students an ideal, real-life practice-environment and opportunity, the VTC runs a small B&B, catering services and a small restaurant. In our garden we grow organic vegetables and fruits using permaculture concepts. The VTC will set up a Permaculture Education Site with the goal to offer Permaculture courses to local/regional farmers. During your placement you will have the opportunity to be part of one of the most authentic and unique education program, immerse yourself in this beautiful culture, develop and build on your skills and make new friends. Both are comfortable and clean. Bathrooms and toilets are shared. We serve three healthy vegetarian meals per day. Food preparation, cooking and clearing-up is usually shared. Your profile We are seeking for motivated female volunteers, preferably 23+ but at least 18 yrs of age. You should be hands-on, pragmatic, sociable, flexible and interested in gaining an invaluable and unique experience in a dynamic environment of a project in its start-up/launch-phase. Our current needs and projects: We have currently additional 6 volunteer openings: 1/ Exterior work: – extending, maintaining, planting and tending organic Permaculture vegetables/fruit garden – improving the general infrastructure, help with minor maintenance work 2/ Office/Administration work: – general administration activities from filing, accounting, assistant’s work, market survey for new products/services, etc – set up, maintain the school’s library – teaching and assisting the administration staff 3/ Outdoor/leisure activities: – giving classes, organizing leisure time from yoga to simple sports/game activities that can be taught to our students 4/ After-school & Extra-curricular Teaching: – English (conversation) – Math (Basic) – Computer skills (application oriented) 5/ English Teacher – We are looking for two additional English teachers to complement our team.
