In our school, we empower girls who have been discarded by society. In the 12-months vocational training course the girls learn:
– basic and solid technical skills required by the hospitality industry
– precious real-life field work experience of twice two months in selected hotels and restaurants
– sessions on reproductive health, HIV and AIDS awareness
– English and computer skills
Of particular importance are the soft- and personal skills. The empowerment curriculum designed for the girls is unique and culturally sensitive, and aims at rebuilding their confidence. It includes critical lessons in areas that are not customary or even considered for inclusion in the national education system but are essential for finding and keeping a job. Covered topics:
