Project Description
Primary and secondary education is the most important form of basic education. And yet, a large percentage of girls as well as poor children, mostly from rural areas and slums, are still excluded from basic education. Many children who start school drop out before completing their primary education. Without a basic education it is almost impossible to attend a vocational training course or any other education and hence to escape from the poverty circle.
The ‚Back to school’-project enabled abandoned/orphans-kids to complete their basic (primary and/or secondary) education by following the official school program. On top of that, the program provided:
- food (3x)
- accommodation
- uniforms
- medical care
- books
Beneficiaries
- Kids who could not complete primary and/or secondary school
- From 12 to 17 years old
- Living in slum-like conditions
- Usually orphans and/or abandoned
Achieved results and impact
We have supported more than 20 kids, some for one others for more three years. thanks to the project, the kids were able to register either for a higher education or for a vocational training. The overall impact was
- Poverty reduction in the short and long term
- Personal pain and sufferance relief
- Increased chances to become self-reliant and economic independence
